  Have you had Dreams Lately ? Do you get Meanings from your Dreams?

  being very interested in psychology i read a book as a teenager and re-read it last year called " gestalt therapy verbatim " by frederick perls m.d.

  ph, d. .

  it deals with dreamwork therapy in which he conducted seminars helping people to re-connect with subconscious parts of themselves by recounting their dreams .

  I dreamt of my daughter a couple of night's back, she lives around 250 miles from where I now live.

  I could see her face looking distraught and her eyes looking up at me beseechingly and her hands were tied behind her back. I phoned her the next morning but there was no reply but she rang me back later in the day. She asked what I wanted and I said I was just phoning to see if she was OK. She said not really and got upset and started telling me some major problems she was having at work. I asked her if she felt her hands were tied and she said yes.

  However, we chatted for nearly an hour and then she said she felt better.

  Horrible conduct by congregation Elders at my cousin's funeral.............

  my cousin passed away last week from cancer at the age of 49. the cancer spread so fast it took our family by surpise.

  we figured she had a couple of years instead of months.

  she left 4 children(3 were baptised and 1 was disfellowshipped a couple of years ago).

  What right do they have over the deceased's family? Totally unbelievable.

  Who else could go into someone else's house and dictate rules to them?

  Why can't I just have one day with out seeing a JW ......seriously

  today i went early to my dad's house to help my disabled sister with medical paperwork .

  at 10am the cleaning lady shows up .

  she was a jw recruit of my mom's yrs ago, and use to be like a sister to us a really long time ago .

  I feel strongly about people being two faced, running someone down behind their backs and so forth and quite frankly that is probably one of the biggest reasons that put me off going to the KH.

  Please take time to read Troubled Mind's posts again, she hasn't mentioned anyone by name. All she is talking aboout is a situation that upset her and suggestions on how she should deal with it. At the time the JW was rude to her in her family's home; she wasn't rude back.

  Please get this into some perspective and also bear in mind the recent article in the Watchtower calling others "mentally diseased" does that not show you who the unkind people really are?

  Know any Rich JWs?

  i was a poor jw.

  lived in the worst part of town.. there were rich jws in our congregation, or so it seemed.

  they had businesses, lived in a nice part of town, always a new car, etc.

  There were a few in our congregation that drove expensive cars, not sure if they would be defined as rich but they were certfainly better off than the rest of us.

  I always found it strange when they gave talks on materialism when theren were more expensive cars in the car park than any other church I have passed.

  Need Opinions -- Engaged to a JW!!

  ok, quick run down of my situation.. .

  1. i am not religious.

  my now-fiance was raised jw but left the religion about 10 years ago.. 2. we started dating last march, i got pregnant within two weeks.

  Junebug, just seen your post. BTW I think the comment saying that a "worldly man" would have left you by now is very stereotypical. That may be true of some but not all which would apply to JW men equally.

  I married a JW but did say beforehand that I wouldn't guarantee to convert and indeed the more meetings I attended the more I decided I didn't want to. He never made me and infact as time has gone on he opened up and said he never really wanted to still be going to meetings (he was in his forties when we met) his mother had emotionally blackmailed him into returning after him not having beenfor twenty or so years.

  It has not all been plain sailing but we are still together and happy. Fortunately, we do not live near his family and have also moved 200 miles away from the KH we used to attend. Life is easier now that members of our local congregation no longer call on us.

  My only really strong feeling is that your child should NOT be brought up in the faith. For me, I think faith has to be a choice and a child cannot make this choice. When he is 18 and wants to become one then that is he decision not your husbands. I feel so sorry for those children who are robbed of their childhood.

  I hope things work out for you whatever path you choose.

  Little sis got shunned today by big sis

  i called my sister today and they said "we were shunned today.

  " normally this is a bit of a non event after all how many faders get shunned on a regular basis.

  i asked who it was and they said "big sis" now this is a shock.

  Aaaah it is really sad when life is so short. I am hopeful that once this article has died down things will get back to what they were before whereby they will have contact with faded and DF relatives but maybe being discreet about it.

  My in-laws although very devout witnesses do not seem to apply the shunning rule so I guess we are lucky in some respects though they do try and run our lives in many ways.

  I think quite honesly Cantleave you have summed up why a lot of people become and remain witnesses. They have a need to achieve something and have probably achieved more in a shorter time and more easily than they could outside.

  We had one particular Elder who was exactly as you describe.

  Shunning..... at Meetings ???

  can someone explain why jws shun disfellowshipped ones when they are at their meetings (i.e.

  making moves to come back)?.

  i can understand why you may not want to 'socialize' with ones who do not share your beliefs.. but surely shunning such ones at the 'meetings'; assuming they are not there to cause trouble, is unloving; should they not be welcomed like the prodigal son.. true christians are known by the 'love' they show.

  Before I met my husband he said he was at a meeting once and spoke to the chap sitting next to him who replied "don't talk to me I am disfellowshipped". My husband told him that it didn't bother him but didn't carry on the conversation as he wanted to respect his wishes.

  Why then do they use cars? Jesus didn't.
